The Surveillance Studies in Groningen Network for All
Our Focus
A network of researchers studying trends and means of data-driven surveillance in various contexts. We aim to foster interdisciplinary knowledge exchange, generate project applications, and study the effects of surveillance and privacy technologies in the context of the University of Groningen, the city of Groningen, and the Northern region of the Netherlands.
The network draws its expertise with a focus on governance aspects stemming from the various disciplines represented by our founders and experts. Furthermore, the network engages with technical experts on topics such as the use of biometrics, computer vision, artificial intelligence, and related emerging technologies.

The “Leadership and Governance,” “Digital & AI,” and “The Surveillance Studies in Groningen Network for All” working groups at the University of Groningen are happy to announce the mini-conference on “Governance and Leadership in the Digital Age”. The focus will be on how digital technologies such as algorithms, data analytics, AI, and blockchain are changing the way organisations are led and governed. The event will take place on May 31st at the new “House of Connections” in Groningen from 12:00 to 18:30 and will combine practical insights and research spotlights. We have a great line-up of speakers from practice and academia.
